Code of Conduct

This code of conduct applies to all spaces, physical and virtual, managed by the Women Coders Inclusive Organization.

We strive to:

  • Be Inclusive: We invite and welcome participation from everyone, regardless of background, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, age, ability, religion, socioeconomic status, or any other dimension of diversity. We value diverse perspectives and encourage active participation from all members.
  • Be Respectful: We value and respect each other's ideas, opinions, and experiences. We strive to create an environment where individuals feel safe, supported, and heard. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or derogatory language in any form.
  • Be Collaborative: We recognize that collaboration is essential for the success of our community. We encourage open communication, constructive feedback, and mutual support among members. We believe in sharing knowledge and resources to help each other grow and succeed.
  • Be Empathetic: We understand that conflicts may arise, but we commit to resolving them with empathy and understanding. We strive to assume good intentions, listen actively, and address concerns respectfully. We aim to cultivate a culture of kindness and compassion within our community.
  • Be Accountable: We hold ourselves and others accountable for our actions and behaviors. We acknowledge the impact of our words and actions on others and take responsibility for any harm caused. We commit to learning from our mistakes and working towards positive change.

Diversity Statement

The Women Coders Inclusive Organization welcomes and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We are committed to creating a community where everyone feels valued, respected, and included. We embrace individuals from diverse backgrounds and strive to create opportunities for their meaningful participation.

We explicitly honor diversity in age, culture, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, ability, religion, socioeconomic status, and any other aspect of identity. We believe that diversity enriches our community and fosters innovation and growth.

Our commitment to diversity is reflected in our actions, policies, and initiatives. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where all members feel empowered to contribute and thrive.

Reporting and Enforcement

Instances of behavior inconsistent with this code of conduct may be reported by contacting the Women Coders Inclusive Organization at womencodersio@gmail.com.

Reports will be promptly and thoroughly investigated, and appropriate measures will be taken to address the situation. Consequences for violating this code of conduct may include warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent expulsion from the Women Coders Inclusive Organization, depending on the severity of the offense.

We are committed to enforcing this code of conduct in a fair and impartial manner to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all members. We encourage all members to actively uphold these principles and contribute to creating a welcoming and inclusive community.
